Poll Finds Majority in Favor of Raising Taxes for Social Security

In a recent AP Poll 53% of adults surveyed stated that they would support raising taxes if it meant not cutting benefits from social security. Only 36% of those surveyed stated they would rather cut benefits. These same results closely echo the responses to raising the age of retirement 53% were in support of raising the age of retirement if it meant preserving benefits while 35% were in favor of cutting monthly social security payments.
