Same-Sex Marriage heading to Supreme Court
Reuters - 06/05/2012
A federal court in California has declined to hear an appeal by those hoping to get Proposition 8 re-established in California. Proposition 8 passed in 2008 making gay marriage illegal after many individuals in the state had married. A California court however found the measure unconstitutional and repealed proposition 8. It is now expected to be appealed to the Supreme Court. Another appeals court in Boston ruled that DOMA was unconstitutional in the state of Massachusetts, however no ruling has ever been made on if marriage is a fundamental human right.
