Vladimir Putin was sworn in as Russia's president on Monday in the lavish St. Andrew Hall while thousands of protesters demonstrated outside the doors and hundreds were arrested. Putin has been in power as Russia's Prime Minister for 4 years, and continues to keep it as he transitions to the formal position of power as President of Russia.
